Dinesh Sharma appointed Deputy chief minister of UP

As after much speculations, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today declared Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath as the new Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Adityanath after being elected has stated that the state will be having two deputy chief ministers. Apart from Keshav Prasad Maurya, who was himself one of the contender for the CM’s post, the safron party has also appointed Lucknow Mayor Dinesh Sharma as the new Deputy Chief Minister.

Being a national vice president of BJP, Sharma is a close aide of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sharma was even close to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with the group’s ideologue Deendayal Upadhyay being close to his father. Also a professor of the Lucknow University, Dinesh Sharma became the party vice president and took charge in Narendra Modi’s hometown Gujarat, soon after the safron party’s victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
