Essar Power Commissions 337-km Mahan-Sipat Line

Essar Power said it has commissioned the 337-km Mahan-Sipat transmission line that will help its 1,200 MW Mahan thermal power plant in Madhya Pradesh to transmit the electricity generated. The 400 kV line is the final leg of a 465-km transmission system that has been built at an investment of Rs 2,400 crore, the company said in a statement.

The Mahan-Sipat transmission line is part of an inter-state transmission system that has been built by Essar Power Transmission Co, Essar Power Transmission Co, an arm of Essar Power.  It extends from Mahan in Madhya Pradesh to Sipat pooling station in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, which is connected to the national grid.
