New industrial areas developed by the state government in Una and Kangra district have failed to attract investors despite crores being spent on these. The government had set up an industrial area at Pandoga in Una at Rs 70 crore. A similar amount is spent on bringing up an industrial area in Kandrori in Kangra district near Pathankot. However, no unit has come up in these areas. Sources said the government was planning an investor meet at Dharamsala in February but it has been postponed to June due to the parliamentary elections. Anshul Dhiman, GM, Industries Centre, Una, said they were trying to attract investors for the new industrial areas. Certain investors had shown interests also.
