The Odisha industrial infrastructure development corporation (Idco) has issued a notice to Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for alleged violation of the terms and conditions of the lease deed and allotment of land for its refinery near Paradip.

Idco, state’s nodal agency for land acquisition, has accused the IOCL of creating hindrance of public thoroughfare over its external approach road connecting from NH-5 (A) to IOCL plant site at Chaukimatha in Jagatsinghpur district.

In a letter (a copy of which is with the TOI) to the deputy general manager (human resources) of ICOL, Idco chief general manager (land), Sushanta Kumar Mohatysaid it has allotted 398 acres of land to ICOL for establishment of township and external approach road.

The Idco official said the external approach road is used by the general public for daily commutation. “It has come to our notice of the lessor (Idco) that, the lessee (IOCL) is making hindrances for public thoroughfare over the road by the general public,” the Idco official noted.
