ONGC puts two oil wells discovered in Assam on production

ONGC has put to production two discoveries it has made in Jorhat district in Assam in 2016-17. After almost three years this is ONGC’s biggest discovery in Assam. Director (Onshore) of ONGC, Ved Prakash Mahawar who was in Guwahati on Friday said, “After three years we have done reserve accretion 10 Million metric tones in Assam. We have made two good discoveries Sufayan and Dayalpur. We are getting production of 50 tones per day from these fields and the overall productioproduction of Jorhat asset have increased from 350 tones per day to 400 tones per day.”

He added, “As soon as we discovered these two fields we put them on production. We are working on the development plan of these fields and production will further increase. From the two assets of Jorhat and Assam in this fiscal year we have a target of production of .96 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) which we will achieve, already we have achieved 98 percent of the target.”
