Public sector petrochem giant Indian Oil Corporation (IOCBSE 0.87 %) is going to launch its 450 kg jumbo pack of LPG in entire West Bengal this financial year keeping bulk consumers as target buyers.

After introducing couple of months back in Coimbatore, IOC has given the jumbo pack ‘Mini-Bulk,’ to few buyers at Kolkata metro area as test cases. Following its success, “This will be launched throughout the state by the end of this Financial Year,” said Ranjan Mahapatra, IOC ExecutiveDirector cum State level Coordinator (West Bengal) told ET. This wide introduction will be followed by further movement towards North eastern states depending upon demand and other ground scenario.

As the plan goes, after refilling at IOC’s Budge-Budge bottling plant at south Bengal, the mini bulk pack will be transported to the buyers in entire state. “If the demand supports, we may consider upgrading our Siliguri bottling plant to handle this 450 Kg pack too,” said Mahapatra.
