The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said there was no point in attending an ‘India’ alliance if the Congress has decided to contest all seven seats in Delhi for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Sources gave this information on Wednesday. The AAP, however, said the final decision on whether to attend the upcoming India meeting in Mumbai or not will be taken by the party’s top leadership.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and former president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday held a meeting with senior leaders of the party’s Delhi unit to discuss preparations for next year’s Lok Sabha polls, sources said.

Former MP Sandeep Dikshit and some other leaders were opposing a possible alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. However, most of the party leaders said that the decision of the party leadership will be acceptable to all. The Congress had supported the Aam Aadmi Party in both houses of Parliament in the monsoon session on the issue of the bill related to services in Delhi. While many leaders like Sandeep Dikshit and Ajay Maken had different opinions on this issue.

Organisation general secretary K.C. Venugopal, party’s Delhi in-charge Deepak Babaria, Pradesh Congress Committee president Chaudhary Anil Kumar, senior leaders Ajay Maken, Jaiprakash Agarwal and several other leaders were present in the meeting. “In view of the Lok Sabha elections, today I had a consultation with Delhi Congress leaders. The innovation of Delhi state is our priority, in which the participation of all leaders and workers is necessary. We made Delhi prosperous and happy, our struggle for the people of Delhi continues even further.”

At the same time, the BJP has also taken a dig at this rift between the Congress and the AAP. Bjp MLA OP Sharma said that this is how the Congress prepares for all the seven seats in Delhi. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress had won all the seven seats in Delhi. However, in terms of vote percentage in the triangular contest, the Congress BJP After that was in second place.
