Commending the Rajahmundry asset of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for installing a water ATM at Antarvedi, Collector Kartikeya Misra on Tuesday said the facility would benefit residents and help deal with drinking water shortage there.
Along with local MLA G. Surya Rao and Asset Manager D.M.R. Sekhar, the Collector inaugurated the machine and a drinking water pipeline from Antarvedipalem to Antarvedi via Dantupuntha. Speaking on the occasion, he said each family could get 20 litres of potable water free by using water cards being distributed by the ONGC. “By submitting Aadhaar card details, residents of Antarvedi could procure a card, which could be used at the machine to get water every day,” he said, adding that cards would be distributed to more than 3,500 families.
